Artist Commissions

  3. Artist Commissions

In May and June 2019, the Aistriú project launched a public call for commission - inviting artists of all genres to submit their proposal for new artwork in response to the Aistriú texts. The call for commission coincided with a workshop at NUI Galway that introduced interested applicants to the texts, and explained the application and selection process.

The winning artists were chosen by a judging panel in July 2019.

Look out for:

  • Ar Ais Arís by Brú Theatre: a 180-degree VR experience showcasing performance, dance and music in response to the Aistriú texts
  • Leide Beag by Ian Wilson, Tonnta & Chiamaka Enyi-Amadi (among other collaborators): a collaborative film-performance comprising voice, movement and image
  • Murmuration by Nicola Anthony: a scultpure coming soon to the NUI Galway campus
