Aistriú project calls on translators across Europe to get involved
The Aistriú project is calling on lovers of language and literature across Europe to participate in the project by translating Irish language texts into their native languages. The Aistriú project team has partnered with EFACIS (European Federation of Associations and Centres of Irish Studies) to reach out to Irish scholars and their students to get involved.
The Aistriú texts are by some of the best known Irish language writers and they include poetry, short stories, novels and autobiographies. Each text explores the theme of migration from different perspectives and by seeking translations from across Europe, the aim is to make this rich literature available to new and diverse audiences.
Translators should express their interest in the project by emailing: projectaistriu@nuigalway.ie
